What this is
iLuv Free Tools is a set of 387 free web tools across 12 categories, from a CDM 2015 construction phase plan to a Secret Santa draw. Everything runs in your browser. There is no account, no email gate, no watermark, no page limit and no paid tier.
It exists because almost everything that calls itself free is not. It asks for your email, stamps a sample mark on the output, caps you at three pages, or hands you a blank template and leaves the actual work to you. This does none of that, and the page you are reading explains how it can afford not to.
Who writes it
My name is Jamie. The construction content here is written by me: a time-served welder and fabricator who installs on site and runs the commercial side of a UK steelwork contractor. Where a tool touches a regulation, the regulation is named on the page so you can check it yourself: CDM 2015, the Construction Industry Scheme, the Working Time Regulations, Part K.

Being straight about where that stops matters as much as claiming it.I am not an engineer and nothing here is structural design. Welding coordination is quality authority over how something is made and joined. It is not the same as saying whether a beam is big enough, and I will not pretend otherwise on a page where somebody might act on it.
There are also whole sections here well outside anything I do for a living: the decorating and flooring calculators, and the ones that exist because they are useful rather than because they are mine. On those the authority is not me, it is the source, named on the page so you can go and check it rather than take my word for anything.
That matters because the alternative is what currently fills these search results: generated pages assembled from other generated pages, by people who have never had a risk assessment rejected on site at seven in the morning, never chased a payment notice deadline, and never had to produce a CIS statement for thirty subcontractors before the nineteenth.
What we do not do
- We do not give advice. The tools produce documents and calculations from the figures you enter. A competent person still has to check the output against the actual job, and every document says so on its face.
- We do not publish structural designs, and we are not engineers. Anything touching sizing or capacity is a reference or an indicative figure for briefing a structural engineer, and it is never a design you can build from. If a job needs an engineer, it needs an engineer.
- We do not accept payment for placement. Where a page links to a supplier or a service and that link earns a commission, it is because it is the genuine next step, and it appears after your file is already downloaded, never before.
How it is paid for
At the moment, it is not. There is no advertising on the site yet, no analytics, and nothing setting a cookie. Saying that plainly seems better than describing a business model as though it were already running, and the privacy page is written the same way.
The plan is advertising, and affiliate commission where a link is genuinely the next thing you need. That is the whole of it. It is why nothing here needs your email address, and it is why every generated document carries one grey line at the bottom saying where it came from. That line is the only thing asked of you anywhere on the site.
When ads do arrive they go in one place: underneath the thing you came for, after your file is made. Never above a tool, never between two fields, never in the way. If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland you will be asked before any non-essential cookie is set, and that gate will exist before the first ad does.
The running costs are close to nothing on purpose. The site is static, the tools run on your device, and there is no server to pay for. That is what makes free sustainable rather than a loss leader with a paywall waiting behind it.
What happens to your data
Nothing, because there is nowhere for it to go. Files you open are processed in your browser and never uploaded. Your document branding is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. There is no account, no database and no server holding anything you type.
There are currently no exceptions at all, because neither analytics nor advertising is running. Both are set out in full on the privacy page anyway, in the future tense, so the change is documented before it happens rather than after. Read the privacy page.
What is deliberately not here
All 387 tools are built. This page used to publish a roadmap, on the reasoning that showing what was unfinished was cheaper than looking finished. There is nothing left to show, so the more useful list is the opposite one: what was left out on purpose, and why.
- Anything that needs a server to be honest. No video encoding, no document conversion that needs a rendering engine. A tool that runs on somebody else's computer has a cost per use, and a cost per use is what turns free into three free and then a card form. Excluded beats metered.
- Anything that needs a standard we would have to buy. Several calculators would be genuinely better with BS 8500 or BRE 365 open in front of us. Guessing at a figure from a paid standard is worse than not having the tool, so those stay out and the pages say which ones and why.
- Anything where the figure could not be verified. Whole questions are missing from the practice tests because the page that would settle them does not state the number. There are tests in this repo that fail if one of those questions ever appears, which is the only way an absence stays deliberate rather than becoming an oversight.
If a tool you need is missing, or one that exists gets something wrong, the contact page is the way to say so. Corrections to the construction content are taken seriously and acted on.
