The short version

Use the tools for whatever you like, commercially or otherwise. The documents they produce are yours. Check the output before you rely on it, because a tool cannot see your job.

What you may do

  • Use every tool free, for personal or commercial work, with no licence, no attribution and no limit on how many documents you produce.
  • Keep and use the output. Documents, calculations and files you generate belong to you. Send them to clients, put them in tender packs, print them, charge for the work they relate to.
  • Put your own logo and company details on them.

What you may not do

  • Copy the tools or the site to run them somewhere else.
  • Present the site as your own product, or resell access to it. It is free, so there is nothing to resell.
  • Scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people, or use automated means to generate ad impressions.
  • Remove the site line from the footer of a generated document.

The output is a starting point, not advice

This is the important part and it is stated plainly rather than buried.

The tools generate documents and calculations from figures and selections you provide, using libraries of common cases. They cannot see your site, your sequence, your ground conditions, your contract or your circumstances. They do not constitute professional advice, and nothing here creates a professional relationship of any kind.

  • Safety documents. A risk assessment produced here is a starting point. A competent person must review it against the actual job before work begins, and amend it where it does not reflect what is happening on the ground. The legal duty to assess risk remains yours.
  • Structural results. Indicative only, for briefing an engineer. Not a design, and not something to build from.
  • Money and tax. Estimates from the figures you enter. Not tax advice, and not a substitute for an accountant or for checking with HMRC.
  • Employment and HR. Templates and calculations based on general rules. Not legal advice, and employment law turns on facts a template cannot know.

Check the output. Where a page names the regulation or standard behind a figure, it does so precisely so you can check it yourself.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is. Reasonable care goes into the calculations and the content, and errors are corrected when they are reported, but no guarantee is given that a tool is free of mistakes or fit for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, because those cannot lawfully be excluded.

Availability

There is no uptime commitment. Tools may be changed, replaced or withdrawn. Because the tools run in your browser, a document you have already downloaded is unaffected by anything that happens here afterwards.
