Privacy

Free. No account, no email, nothing uploaded.

The short version

The files you open in these tools are never uploaded. Everything you type into a tool stays in your browser. There is no account, no login and no database holding anything about you.

Right now nothing else happens at all. There is no advertising on the site yet and no analytics running, so no cookies are set and no third party is contacted. The sections below say what will change when advertising is switched on, and this page will say so in the present tense on the day it is.

Who runs this site

iLuv Free Tools is run by Jamie Phillis, a sole tradertrading as iLuv Free Tools. That person is the data controller for anything on this page, and is the one who answers for it. There is no company behind the site and no other party involved in running it.

What never leaves your device

  • Files. PDFs, images and documents you open are processed by your own browser. They are not sent anywhere, not stored, and not seen by anyone including us.
  • What you type into a tool. Project names, site addresses, client names, subcontractor details, salaries, staff names, hazards, method statements. All of it is held in the page you are on and discarded when you close the tab.
  • Your document branding. Your logo, company name, address and colours are saved in your browser's local storage, on the device you set them on. They are not uploaded, not synced and not readable by us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
  • Generated documents. The PDF is assembled in your browser and saved straight to your device. No copy exists anywhere else.

Analytics

The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without setting a cookie and without building a profile of you. It records which page was viewed, roughly which country it was viewed from, and what kind of device it was. It does not record what you typed into a tool, and it cannot follow you to another site.

That choice is deliberate rather than incidental. A cookie-based analytics product would require a consent banner before it could run, on a site whose entire promise is that nothing is asked of you. A cookieless one does not, so there is nothing to click past.

The purpose is to know which tools are worth building more of. Nothing is sold, and no profile about you is built or shared.

Advertising

There is no advertising on the site yet. No ad script is loaded and no advertising cookie is set. This section is written out in full now, in the future tense, because it is what will happen when advertising is enabled and you are entitled to know before it changes rather than after.

The site will be paid for by advertising, which is what allows every tool to be free with no account. Advertising will be served by Google AdSense.

  • Google and its partners will use cookies to serve ads, including the Google advertising cookie (DoubleClick DART), which may be used to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may also set their own cookies when their ads appear, once there are ads. Those cookies are set by them, not by us, and are governed by their own policies.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and from many third-party vendors at aboutads.info or Your Online Choices.
  • The consent banner does not exist yet, and neither do the cookies. When advertising is enabled, a banner will appear before any non-essential cookie is set if you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, and you will be able to change or withdraw that consent at any time. Promising a gate before it is built would be worse than saying this plainly, so this is the plain version: nothing is being set today.

Affiliate links

Some pages link to products or services and earn a commission if you go on to buy. Those links appear after your file is downloaded, never before, and they never change what the tool produces. Clicking one takes you to that company's site, where their privacy policy applies, not this one.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data held about you, and to object to processing. In practice there is very little to exercise those rights against, because the site holds no account and no record of you beyondnothing at all, since neither analytics nor advertising is running yet.

If you want your document branding removed, clear it using the Clear button on the branding page or clear your browser data. It only ever existed on your own device.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The site is aimed at people doing work. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything about them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the change appears here. Because the site holds so little, changes are likely to be about advertising or analytics rather than anything about your data.
